“LIVE AT THE RYMAN”: Band of Horses
Beginning as a rock outfit in 2004, Band of Horses was catapulted into alternative stardom on the back of iconic singles “The Funeral” and “No One’s Gonna Love You.” Likened to The Decemberists and Bon Iver, lead singer Ben Bridwell’s fragile, emotive vocals take center stage.
Philadelphia–based musician and producer RJD2 rose to fame on the back of singles like 2008’s “Ghostwriter,” colorful, cut–and–paste blends of downbeat hip–hop, jazz, soul and funk.
2013 has seen the summer of electro–pop, and Spanish dance outfit Delorean offers a contribution in the form of its new album “Apar.” The band has Basque origins and a characteristic sound—a sunny, melodic optimism that drives the album forward with relentless cheer.
