Hillary Duff is the latest celebrity to join the sea of stars infiltrating the beauty world. Her line, which dropped earlier this month, is now among those of Rihanna, Lady Gaga, and Kylie Jenner and countless other celebrities designing makeup products for the masses.
When our favorite beautiful celebrities are the face of these beauty products, it's easy to get sucked in. We see them looking flawless constantly, and dishing out cash for Kylie's lips or Rihanna's flawless skin can be tempting when our feeds are regularly bombarded with pictures of them looking so great. Its easy to forget that these stars have teams of professional makeup artists, and that their often overpriced products may not be worth the hype. Should we let celebrities dictate the beauty products we use every day when they don't even do their own makeup? The choice is yours. For now, though, here's the rundown on the excessive amount of celebrity cosmetic lines.
It's virtually impossible to talk about celebrities in the makeup space without mentioning Kylie Jenner. Jenner's beauty brand gained instant notoriety after she launched her "Lip Kits," which consist of matching lip liner and liquid lipsticks. Since the launch of Kylie Cosmetics over three years ago, the beauty brand has expanded to eyeshadow palettes, concealers, highlighters, blush, and much more. Now, "one of the fastest growing beauty brands in the word," Kylie Cosmetics is loved by its cult followers and respected as a trend–setting brand in the makeup world.
