Let’s face it: living on a budget as a college student isn't always glamorous. That’s why when Thanksgiving rolls around, while I look forward to pumpkin pie and family time, the highlight of my week will be taking advantage of all the Black Friday and Cyber Monday deals that are up for grabs. If you’ve been dying for some new tech, some pieces to change up your wardrobe, or appliances for your dorm or apartment, this is the week to go all out.
Apple: This year, Apple is going all out to sell you on deals you won’t be able to turn down. The company is holding 4 days of special promotions (November 23–November 26) centered around Thanksgiving. As of now it’s unclear exactly what deals Apple will be offering, but this is the first year they’ve hinted at a big promotion. If it’s anything like last year, they’ll be offering gift cards with the purchase of select products, but who knows what the company has up their sleeve?
Walmart: Walmart is offering discounts on home, electronics, toys and more. Some of the highlights include $100 savings on the Microsoft Xbox One Minecraft Creator Bundle, Sony Playstation 4 Spider-Man bundle, and Xbox One X. Head to the stores starting November 22 6 p.m., or stay in and shop online starting November 21 at 10 p.m.
Amazon: Amazon is expanding the typical one–day discounts to provide customers with week–long deals. The company is offering discounts on everything from tech to toiletries– and you won’t be disappointed. One highlight is the $80 savings on a 3–pack of Amazon Echo Dots. Each day on their page you can browse their “deals of the day” to see which items are most discounted. They’re running week–long promotions for both Black Friday and Cyber Monday!
JC Penney: This retailer is offering major price drops on everything from apparel and accessories to electronics to toys and jewelry. Thursday, November 22 at 2 p.m., doors open. Enjoy 30% off Nike, 50% off toys, and up to 80% off jewelry!
Best Buy: Televisions, phones, video games—Best Buy is supplying everything to make a tech lover’s dream come true. You can’t go wrong. Save $300 on the Samsung Galaxy Note 9, S9, or S9+ or purchase blockbusters for $6.99 each.
Target: With 15% off site–wide (even on sale items!), and an extra 5% off with a Target REDcard, Target’s Black Friday promotions this year certainly rival the rest. Deals on the Google Home Mini, Fitbit, and Nintendo Switch in-store are some of this year’s most sought-after deals.
B&H: If you’re looking to save big on cameras, televisions, and all other things technology–related, B&H has the savings for you. Save $650 on the 15.4 in 2017 MacBook Pro, $449 on the Apple Watch, and $600 on the Nikon D750 camera.
Bloomingdales: I know I can always count on Bloomingdales for a great sale, and Black Friday is no exception. This 3–day–long sale will offer discounts on dresses, men's designer clothing, shoes, home decor and handbags so you can treat yourself or find perfect gifts for your loved ones before the holiday craziness starts up.
