It’s getting colder, and you know what that means—it’s almost cuffing season. So obviously now is the perfect time to ask that cutie in your hall to spend some time off–campus with you. But you don’t have to go far—there are plenty of great date options right here in West Philly so you won’t even need to split an Uber.
Here are the five best spots to take that special someone:
1. Schuylkill River Walk:
Known more to rowers and runners than anyone else, the path along the Schuylkill has plenty of potential to get to know someone. One option would be to grab two bikes and take a relaxing ride along the path during the day. If you’re more of a nighttime date person, I suggest taking a walk, looking at the lit–up Philly skyline, and getting to know your date. Plus, the 30–mile walk features one of the city’s best dog parks—and let’s be real, dogs make any date better.
2. World Café Live:
If your date is a music fan, look no further than World Café Live, a hidden gem on 31st and Walnut streets. This intimate venue offers concerts almost every night, both in their upstairs and downstairs areas. While you’re enjoying the show, you can also treat your date to delicious food and cocktails. If the date’s going well, there are plenty of murals to get that perfect couple photo at.

3. The Farmacy:
Is there anything better than a brunch date? Start your day and your date early by going to this cozy spot right near campus. Some of the highlights on the menu include the chicken and waffles, build–your–own Eggs Benedict, and s'mores French toast. I’d recommend you and your date pick a few dishes and share, and I guarantee you’ll leave full and happy. Like they say, the way to someone’s heart is through their stomach.

4. James G. Kaskey Memorial Park:
If you’re running low on time, or don’t want to leave campus at all, this is the perfect spot for you. The James G. Kaskey Memorial Park is home to botanical gardens, bird–watching, and the under–appreciated Bio Pond. Its open location may make your date a little public, but thankfully it’s usually pretty empty. Pick up some food and maybe a little bit of wine, and enjoy a serene picnic surrounded by lush greenery.

5. Clark Park:
Clark Park is a beautiful and expansive green space located at the intersection of 43rd and Baltimore streets, where the opportunities for a perfect date are endless. The park features an amazing farmer’s market year–round on Saturdays from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. with dozens of vendors and food trucks. They also host other fun events, like free movie nights and Shakespeare in the Park if you want to mix it up.
