With Halloween right around the corner, the spooky season feels are at an all time high. Whether it’s putting final touches on costumes for Halloween parties or stocking up on candy before the shelves are wiped, there’s so much to get in before October comes to a close, and Philly has the perfect outdoor event to end the Halloween season.
After a successful first year, The Glow: A Jack O’ Lantern Experience is back and has taken over West Fairmount Park. With more than 5,000 illuminated pumpkins, The Glow is the ultimate Halloween wonderland. Each pumpkin is hand–carved to display your favorite celebrities, superheroes, and Disney characters, bringing them to life in different and spooky ways. And the fun doesn’t end there.
The Glow is made up of different themed trails, from a nature–themed path, lined with pumpkins carved into flowers and small garden critters, to an “Under the Sea” adventure with pumpkins transformed into sea creatures that transports its spectators into the ocean. There is even a “Winter Wonderland” path with jack–o–lantern snowmen and a giant Jack Frost pumpkin. Take a walk with your friends for the Instagram opportunity of the year.
The fall fun doesn’t stop there either. After walking The Glow trail, take the time to meet with the expert artists to discover how they carved the pumpkins, learn the secrets to carving a pumpkin, and even put in a request to take home your very own, masterfully carved pumpkin. Don’t forget to grab a sweet fall treat or warm beverage to enjoy along the trail.
While Halloween is still a few days away, this weekend is the last opportunity to experience The Glow and will be going on from 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. every night until Sunday, October 28. Tickets go for $22.99 and do sell out, so make sure to grab them before they’re all gone. If you’re looking for a new and lit twist on the Halloween experience, make sure to check out The Glow before its flames die out.
