The Qdoba Mexican Eats on 40th Street recently closed for remodeling. Outside of the restaurant, employees are offering coupons announcing the closure and offering buy–one, get–one–free entrees. A sign on the door of the restaurant, located at 40th and Locust Street, announced the temporary closure but did not specify when it would reopen.
In December, the owner of Qdoba, Jack in the Box, was reported to sell the chain to Apollo Management for $305 million. Additionally, in light of increased avocado prices, rising labor costs, and elevated competition, Qdoba’s sales have fallen in recent quarters. Chipotle’s recent release of their new queso may have contributed to this as well.
In an email comment, Qdoba PR–specialist Nicole Dionisopoulos stated that the restaurant is slated to reopen this Friday, Friday 26th.
