If you didn’t get enough of Ron Burgundy the first time around, “Anchorman 2” is scheduled for release on December 20, 2013. The new film incorporates the same over-the-top characters, humor and silly plot twists that “Anchorman” fans love and crave. The old Channel 4 News team members are continuing on their journey, which is kind of a big deal.
What We Love: The same quartet of skillful and hilarious actors, Will Ferrell (co-writer and producer), Steve Carell, Paul Rudd and David Koechner, are highly unlikely to disappoint. We can look forward to enjoying not only another hysterical movie complete with a full range of dynamic characters, but also the introduction of new ones that appear as the gang leaves the 70s behind and makes their way to New York. Also, the trailer shows dolphins...dolphins and Ron Burgundy. Who wouldn’t be excited for that?
What We Don’t: This film has some potential to disappoint viewers if it fails to live up to sky-high standards set by its successful original. Hopefully the juvenile and slapstick humor won’t be too annoying or racist, but then again, the audience should know what to expect from esteemed comedy producer Judd Apatow and his crew of talented actors.
