If your're ambitious — like me — and sometimes think with your eyes where you should with your stomach, you might end up with leftover hotdogs. Sure, they look kind of gross, but don’t throw them out! Use them as sausage in the classic sausage, onions, and peppers, and eat with a runny egg and toast. It's a breakfast even the Coney Island hotdog champ would appreciate. — Amanda Shulman, blogger, hungreegirl.blogspot.com

What you need:

a hot dog

1/2 an onion

1/2 a green pepper

2 tbs butter

an egg

S&P

Slice the onion and green pepper thinly. Melt 1 tbs of butter in a skillet. Add onions and pepper until seared and a little translucent. Slice the hotdog into rounds and add it to the skillet for about 2 minutes. Remove from stove top. Melt the remaining 1 tbs of butter and fry the egg. Season with salt and pepper and enjoy.
