Hey guys, just to let you know, I ordered some pizzas and they’ll be in the lounge at 7 tonight. I also picked up a 2-liter bottle of Sierra Mist and a six-pack of Super Chill brand cream soda.
It should be a good hall-bonding event and we’re in desperate need of one. I feel like nobody has stopped by my room since you all started pledging. To be honest, it’s got me worried. We’re a family, you know? You are all like my children and I am like the cool mom with the plastic tub of candy and condoms (I’ll turn away so I can’t see what you take!).
We used to have so much fun together. Remember during NSO when we all went to dinner at Hill and then Joey couldn’t get the ice to come out of the soda machine and then he hit the soda machine and then all that ice came out? Classic Joey. We should not be robbed of classic Joey moments because pledging has torn our family apart.
I think we just need to open up more of a dialogue. You guys used to tell me things — your name, hometown and favorite movie as part of the survey I sent out so I could design your door nametags, for example. But these days I have no idea what’s happening in your lives.
Luckily, all of this can be fixed with one hour of fun and friends tonight at 7. I’ll supply the Meat Lover’s pie, you bring the energy and humor I bragged about at the first RA meeting back in September and our family will be just as strong as it was last semester. Hope to see you all there!
