Friars and presidents of the Panhellenic and Interfraternity Councils, seniors Alissa Eisenberg and Shawn Woodhull sit down to talk with Street about each other, their love of running Greek life and New Jersey.
Street: You’re both very involved and talented people. What would you title your autobiographies? AE: So Little Time, like the Mary-Kate and Ashley show. SW: Spread Too Thin. But if we wrote it together — If Only I Was Four Inches Taller.
Street: Who would win in a celebrity death match? Panhel or IFC? AE: Panhel! SW: They [Panhel] typically dominate us in most things. We’re poorly organized.
Street: There are two types of people at Penn… AE: People who go to halftime at basketball games and people who don’t. SW: That should really be people who don’t go to halftime and Alissa’s boyfriend.
Street: Do your Jersey backgrounds have anything to do with your strong bond? SW: Absolutely. Being two of the few people from NJ at Penn we bonded over our minority status.
Street: Most overrated thing about Alissa/Shawn? Underrated? AE: Overrated: Shawn’s employment status. Underrated: Shawn’s BAC. SW: Overrated: Alissa’s membership in Friars. Underrated: Alissa’s ability to micromanage my life.
Street: Any guilty pleasures? AE: Listening to some hardcore hip hop alternated with a little Britney. That’s just how I flow. SW: Tool Academy 2. It makes me remember summers on the Jersey Shore. And that song that goes, “I’m not gonna write you a love song…”
Street: You’re walking into a party. What’s playing in the background? AE: Some Lady Gaga — I’m thinking about being her for Halloween. It doesn’t require pants. SW: “Break Up” by Mario.
Street: What famous duo best exemplifies your relationship? AE: The Time Traveler’s Wife, because I always do everything and he's never around. SW: If I were gay, it’d be Will and Grace.
