Jingle All the Way

We’re not going to lie — this movie is awful. We could go on about all its flaws... the poor acting, terrible script, bad slapstick humor, a message of materialism that seems unfathomable in today’s economy. Still, it is an invaluable addition to American cinema, perfectly capturing a moment when parents would trample each other for toys, a time when Sinbad could land a starring role. Ah yes, twas the best of eras: the '90s.
In this alternate universe, adults lie and scheme to get the must-have toy of the season: Turbo-Man. (Sort of like today’s adults lying and scheming to sell bonds, except with pretty wrapping paper.) Implausibility should be the tagline of this movie, but we miss consumerism so much, we’re willing to overlook it. One of Arnold’s best. After Junior, of course.
