Sometimes we wonder what our high school friends have been doing with their lives. Recently, I checked up on two pals of mine, Brian McElhaney and Nick Kocher, who were notorious comedians within our Atlantan community. What I found was their Web site, BriTANicK.com, and I suggest you find it, too.
The soon-to-be NYU Tisch graduates have created several sketch-comedy shorts that are finding praise and popularity on YouTube and other video-sharing sites. Recently, they participated in the prestigious San Francisco Sketchfest performing alongside Robin Williams and other notable funny people. Search "Herpex," to watch their fake commercial for an STD treatment whose main side-effect is teleportation. In "A Monologue for Thee," the writing/directing/acting duo uses Shakespeare like he's never been used before. And in their numerous other shorts, expect a novel approach to awkward dysfunction that is at once uncomfortable and shockingly funny. Indeed, the class-clowns have found a larger stage than our 10th grade bio class. Thank goodness.
