Go down to Chinatown and catch the Artists For Heat benefit concert, featuring hip hop legends Public Enemy and The Roots and a special DJ set from Ali Shaheed Muhammad of A Tribe Called Quest. All proceeds from the concert benefit families who need heat during the winter months. $37.50

You might not be used to the psych-folk drones of WZT Hearts, Wet Hair, Teeth Mountain or Memes, but for only a few bucks you can experience a night of music like no other. Get there right when doors open at 7:30 p.m. to catch the "laptop goodness" of Penn students Steve McLaughlin and Matt Abess in Prince Hand vs. Prince Hand. $5

Y-Rock and WXPN present a night of music featuring Spinto Band, supported by the Whigs and Plants and Animals. This six-piece turns out catchy indie-pop that is impossible not to dance to. $10 in advance, $12 day of show

Sunday, 2/3: Dan Deacon

First Unitarian Church, All Ages

Fresh off of touring with Penn favorite Girl Talk, Dan Deacon brings the dance party back to the City of Brotherly Love, supported by Philadelphia's Mincemeat or Tenspeed and Jeff Brown Duplex. The show will feature a special screening of Ultimate Reality, a Deacon composition paired with a video collage of Arnold Schwarzenegger films. If you want to catch this extravaganza, you should get your tickets soon. Street predicts this one will sell out. $10 in advance, $12 day of show
