Private Practice, Wed, 9/26 at 9 p.m. on ABC
Don't know if you've heard about this one yet, it's kind of flown under the radar. See, it's this show about doctors, good-looking doctors who just can't seem to get their personal lives in order. There's sexual tension and drama and sexual tension and comedy and sexual tension. Sometimes, there are crazy medical cases. and sexual tension. Sure, it sounds a lot like that other ABC drama, Grey's. something or other, but maybe that's not such a bad thing. Seriously.
Dirty Sexy Money, Wed, 9/26 at 10 p.m. on ABC
Affairs! Human trafficking! Billy Baldwin! Dirty Sexy Money follows the Darlings, a family with so much money and influence that they are, of course, totally and irrevocably screwed-up. Enter the idealistic lawyer who can't believe he has to work for them and watch the upper-crust intrigue unfold. Created by Six Feet Under alum Craig Wright, DSM boasts a strong cast, including Peter Krause, Donald Sutherland and Samaire Armstrong, and a tongue-in-cheek attitude about the pleasures and pitfalls of having more money than the Sultan of Brunei. Here's to champagne wishes, caviar dreams and some Sweeps stunt-casting with Stephen Baldwin.
Chuck, Mon, 9/24 at 8 p.m. on NBC
Nerds are in this fall. Along with the CBS comedy The Big-Bang Theory and CW sitcom Aliens in America, this NBC show examines the lives of the smart but socially-challenged. Chuck Bartowski (Zachary Levi) is a little bit cooler than those other geeks, though, thanks to some government secrets he accidentally downloaded to his brain. Now he's pulling double duty as a Nerd Herd computer tech at Buy More Electronics and an undercover CIA agent. In other words, every electronic whiz's wet dream.
Bionic Woman, Wed, 9/26 at 9 p.m. on NBC
After almost dying in a car accident, Jaime Sommers gets some radical surgery. Radical in the totally awesome sense: state-of-the-art and incredibly freaky-looking bionic parts to replace her arm, ear, eye and both legs. Her new bionic body enables her to leap buildings in a single bound, hear and see things miles away, and punch people really, really hard. But all those super duper abilities come at a cost as Jaime struggles to get on with her life. NBC's "re-imagining" of the '70s cheese-tastic show (read: no more Fembots, truth serums or easy-to-escape plot contrivances) stars Michelle Ryan as Jaime.
K-Ville, Mon, 9/17 at 9 p.m. on Fox
K-Ville is filmed on location in New Orleans, which lends an authenticity to this drama about cops working to rebuild and restore order to this fragile city. The underrated Anthony Anderson stars as Marlin Boulet, a cop who saw his partner bolt while he stayed to help during Hurricane Katrina. His new partner is Trevor Cobb (Cole Hauser), who's new to New Orleans after fighting in Afghanistan. The real question, though: when do they hit Bourbon Street?
Reaper, Tues, 9/25 at 9 p.m. on the CW
This may just be the trippiest new show on TV. Check out the premise: guy leads normal life. Devil shows up on guy's 21st birthday. Guy finds out parents sold his soul to the Devil. Guy has to be Devil's bounty hunter, chasing down evil people's souls and sending them back to Hell. Guy is pissed. Kevin Smith directed the pilot, which includes, among other things, a guy who explodes into fire and a supernatural mini vacuum cleaner. Reaper stars the lovable Bret Harrison as Sam, the slacker-turned-reaper and Ray Wise as that pesky dark overlord.
