1 oz cold espresso
1 1/2 oz Absolutr vodka
1 1/2 oz Kahl£ar coffee liqueur
1 oz white crŠme de cacao
Filter black coffee to fill, to taste
The martini, an art form of sorts and Bond's drink of choice, seems to be too quickly dismissed by the average college student. Sure it requires some tools for a nice execution, but these are little costs relative to the benefit of substituting a chilled digestif for a can of Natty light.
Shaken, not stirred, poured over chilled glasses and garnished with a few coffee beans, it takes the meaning of a Red Bull and vodka to a whole new level of sophistication. The coffee to fill is for taste, rendering the drink less creamy the more you add. The good thing with this drink is that the recipe is only a guide, so one can really experiment with other flavors like vanilla or different strengths of coffee.
So don't shrink from what seems to be the impenetrable realm of the martini. This one's like eating cereal for dinner, except you get drunk.
