We've got your dinner covered this Tuesday -- whether you have a date or not. Now all you have to do is figure out who gets to spend V-Day with you.
On a First Date
Where: Positano Coast by Aldo Lamberti, 212 Walnut Street, 2nd Floor, (215) 238-0499
Price: Entrees $11-$28
Reason to Go: Positano Coast is everything a romantic first date should be: good wine, fantastic fresh seafood choices and great views of Society Hill. Head across the street to the Ritz Five after dinner or into Society Hill and neighboring Old City.
Veteran Couples
Where: Amada, 217-219 Chestnut Street, (215) 625-2450
Price: A dinner-sized amount of tapas can range from $30 to $90 or more per couple, depending on what you order.
Reason to Go: You've most likely fought about everything under the sun, so selecting tapas from the endless menu shouldn't be a problem. This slow-paced dinner will provide you two with ample time to relax and fall in love all over again. Drink enough of the house sangria and you may never leave.
On a Budget
Where: Monk's, 16th and Spruce Streets, (215) 545-7005
Price: Entrees and entree-sized items $6.95-$30
Reason to Go: Monk's has the unbeatable duo of inexpensive great food and a wide selection of brews. You'll likely spend more money on beer than you will on their fantastic food. A "small" bowl of mussels, cooked in your choice of broth, will cost you $10; it is more than enough for two. The burgers are mouthwatering; between the appetizer and burger you'll be stuffed. With the largest selection of Belgian ales in North America and the most on tap in the country, it's the perfect opportunity to try something new.
Non-Traditional Valentine's Day
Where: The Manayunk Brewery, 4120 Main Street, (215) 482-8220; The Melting Pot, 1219 Filbert Street, (215) 922-7002
Price: $11.95-$27.95
Reason to Go: The Manayunk Brewery offers a Murder Mystery show on the 14th. The $45 per-person fee covers the show, one cocktail, dinner, tax and gratuity. Don't have a car? Head over to The Melting Pot for fondue. For an alternative to conventional Center City dining, you'll dip chunks of baguettes into a pot of luscious cheese, and enjoy chicken, steak, seafood and vegetables, all served with accompanying sauces.
Girls' Night Out
Where: Remedy Tea Bar, 1628 Sansom Street, (215) 557-6688; Tria, 123 S. 18th Street, (215) 972-TRIA; Glam, 52 S. 2nd Street, (267) 671-0840
Price: $4-$5 a pot of tea; $10 or less at Tria for food; around $10 per drink at Glam.
Reason to Go: Sit and detox with the 50 signature and rare Remedies by the Pot. Then head to Tria for a glass of wine and to enjoy their selections of cheeses, bruschetta and sandwiches for dinner. Finish the night by dancing at Glam in Old City and drinking specialty cocktails like the Frutini and the Chocolate Kiss Martini (both $10).
