Name & Year: Terrill Warrenburg, C’16 Hometown: Little Silver, NJ Major: Fine Art Website: www.terrillwarrenburg.webs.com
Street: How did you get into visual art? Terrill Warrenburg: I grew up surrounded by art; my mom is an oil painter and my family would go to museums all the time. I always was doodling or doing something artistic, and so I started to take art lessons around 7th grade.
Street: What have been your most formative experiences as an artist? TW: My summer abroad in Paris in 2010, my education at the Rhode Island School of Design pre-college in 2011 and my four years of being a visual art major in High School.
Street: Who or what do you consider your major influences? TW: I am inspired by many of the post-impressionist master painters, contemporary artists like Janet Fish and Chuck Close, my academic classes and current events.
Street: How has your time at Penn impacted your art? TW: At Penn, I have more opportunities than I imagined for involvement with art, including my participation with Penn Art Club (I am the co-director of public arts), display of my work at Saxby’s last semester and creating logos and commissioned work.
Street: When you’re not working on your art, what do you like to do? TW: I like to go to art museums, listen to music and hang out with my friends and my sisters in Alpha Phi.
Street: Where do you see your art taking you in the future? TW: Ideally I would love to become a fine artist and travel, showing my art around the world. I would also love to be an art teacher or work in graphic design.
