Review: Beacon – Two Door Cinema Club
In their sophomore effort, the Irish band reprise their catchy, clean–cut blend of indie rock and electro–pop, proving that in the two years since “Tourist History” they’ve matured without losing their upbeat energy. In singer Alex Trimble’s own words, it’s “deeper and definitely more emotional” than “Tourist History”, but jangly guitars and driving synths balance lyrics like “Everyone is here except for me / and I can feel the world watching,” that can sometimes verge on the overly sentimental. Standout tracks include “Someday” and “Sleep Alone”, both of which exemplify the band’s dance–floor readiness. Be sure to catch them September 29th at the Electric Factory.

Tourist History still remains as one of my favorite records, and Beacon is slowly becoming another favorite!
Been jamming to this album all week, can’t wait to catch these guys on their fall tour. Nice review.
