"The Only Place" — Best Coast
*We track the best songs for all your sun kissed, beach babed, cruisin’–with–the–top–down–
You don’t have to be from LA to love Best Coast’s latest ditty. Predictably, “The Only Place” is a love song to the Cali-based duo’s home state. It’s also the first single from their new album, and a sign that the band has changed its hazy, daydream-y ways for happier sounds. The bright, jangly guitar chords signal the beginning of summer fun and the end of school-year sadness. The repetitive lyrics peak with the opening line, but an easy tune makes this an obligatory addition to your summer playlist. Served best with a cold beer and plenty of vitamin D.
