Valentine’s Day Recipe: A Love Potion

Many of us are aware of oysters’ aphrodisiac qualities, but we wouldn’t send you to purchase questionable shellfish from FroGro.. Don’ t worry: almonds can do the trick too. Novelist Alexandre Dumas supposedly polished off a bowl of almond soup every night before meeting his mistress. Test out these almond butter cookies on your beloved.

ALMOND BUTTER THUMBPRINT COOKIES

Ingredients:
1 stick unsalted butter, soft
3/4 cup almond butter
1/2 cup light brown sugar
1 large egg
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp baking soda
1/4 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 cup any flavored jam

Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. In a medium bowl, use electric mixer to beat butter,
almond butter and sugar until smooth. Mix in egg and vanilla. In a separate bowl, whisk
together remaining dry ingredients. Combine with wet ingredients. Form balls, about 1
tablespoon, and spread out on greased baking sheet. Make deep indentation with thumb
at center of each ball. Bake for about 15 minutes. Remove from oven and spoon jam into
indentations.
