Secrets of the Silk Road

Our very own Museum of Archaeology and Anthropology brings “Secrets of the Silk Road,” an exploration of more than 100 artifacts from the Silk Road in Central Asia, including textiles, coins, jewelry and more. Come before March 15 to see the famous 3,800 year old “Beauty of Xiaohe” mummy … and even an infant mummy. It’ll Be the weirdest thing you do all week.

How Things Work: Leonardo da Vinci’s Workshop

To go along with the Institute’s Leonard da Vinci exhibit, this program brings out the inventive faculties in anyone, bringing us all just a little closer to the genius himself. Take a study–break and come try your hand at the K’Nex® Build Challenge or get crafty at the Papermaking Cart where you can…you guessed it…learn to make your own paper.

Periodic Lectures on Design: Innovation and Entrepreneurship

Learn the skills of the design trade from those in the know. Every Tuesday from 6 to 7:30 p.m., 5 design experts (like Ellen Lupton, curator of contemporary design at the Cooper–Hewitt National Design Museum) will be giving free lectures about creative problem solving and design, open to the public. Yay!

One important thing: the lectures aren’t every Tuesday.

Penn students, with your PennCard can see “Secrets of the Silk Road” for FREE–but you have to come to the Penn Museum Visitors Services desk at the Warden Garden entrance, with your PennCard, to buy your ticket!
FREE quite the deal of $16.50! Hurry–the show has a limited run, reviews have been incredible, and times are selling out fast!
